Although Nicole is not an Austin native, she has been a resident of the Austin metro area since 1990. She is a product of the Round Rock Independent School District and graduated in the first graduating class at Stony Point High School in May 2002. Nicole attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology with Honors in May 2006. Subsequently, she attended Kent State University where she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology in August 2009. Nicole graduated in December 2018 with a Doctorate in Health Professions Education.
Outside of therapy, Nicole has a passion for higher education in psychology, community mental health, and managed care. Nicole also teaches undergraduates in introductory level courses in psychology. Additionally, Nicole is well versed in Texas Medicaid and managed care, and works full-time at a managed care organization.
In her spare time, Nicole enjoys traveling, live music, anything involving a beach, lake, or river, Fredericksburg and the Texas Hill Country, college football and basketball, being involved in her faith community, cooking, and managing her three rowdy fur-children. She is a hardcore North Carolina Tar Heels and Texas Longhorn fan.
Nicole has worked with clients in a therapeutic capacity since August 2007. From 2007 – 2011, Nicole provided therapy and psychological assessment to college students with a wide range of psychological symptomatology including eating disorders, personality disorders, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, stress and college adjustment, etc. In 2009, Nicole participated in a one-year external placement at Summa Health Systems providing therapy to adults in the community as well as conducting psychological assessments and therapy to individuals seeking approval for bariatric surgery. Nicole completed her clinical internship at Psych Et Al. and Capital Area Counseling under the supervision of Dr. Ellen C. Melton, LPC-S. Nicole has been fully licensed in the state of Texas since August 2018.
